We left at 6:00 a.m. on Monday and drove for fourteenand a half hours. We arrived in Pensacola about 8:30. We traveled through Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Our adventure for the day was eating at “The Palace” somewhere a little north of Lafayette, La. It was a little hole in the wall joint that served a wide variety of Cajun food. We probably won’t be going back. The girls were pretty good for most of the ride.
My parents are both doing well, and Neil, Melissa, and the family are also doing well. We will be having a big family get together today to celebrate my mom’s cancer being in remission. It was a year ago this summer that she had surgey for her colon cancer diagnosis. She also went through chemo therapy and radiation. All of her boys and families are here and we are celebrating the family. Happy birthday to our niece Ally, she turns six today.
Well, we will blog more later. Lauren woke us up at 6:00 am and helped me decide to blog. More about the trip later……

So, as I said, I started blogging on our website, right? I was up last night until about 12:30, which wasn’t too bad, but as soon as Ryan got home from playing poker he checked in on the girls. And what happens? Lauren wakes up and begins to cry. Ryan leaves, hoping she will go right back to sleep. After what seems like forever of screaming and crying and not going back to sleep, Ryan went and got Lauren and brought her to bed with us. I finally got to go to sleep around 3:30am. Madison, was up and rearing to go at 7:00. I’m tired.

Well, I’m actually doing something I thought I would never do and that is blog! Our summer is up and running! We started out by having a first birthday party for Lauren and are very thankful for everyone who came and helped us celebrate! Ryan’s parents came from Florida as well as Ryan’s brother Neil and his family from the Houston area and my brother and his family from Lubbock.
The next week Ryan had basketball camp and any of you who have kids know that it’s hard to get things done around the house when you have little ones to chase after! Now the past 2 weeks have been a little better but still seem to be flying by. I have been able to see alot of my friends from school during these 2 weeks as well as simply trying to relax.
We are now in the process of getting ready to leave for Florida for 2 weeks on Monday. On our vacation we will be heading to Disneyworld! This will be the girls’ first trip there. We will also see my Uncle Bill in Clearwater and of course Ryan’s parents and family in Pensacola.
After we return on July 15 we will be going to see Tom and Monica’s new house in McKinney and we are so excited!! We can’t wait for our kids to grow up together and see their family more often! The girls and I will also be going to a play date at Jenny’s and Keelan’s house and are very excited about that as well!
Then, the following week, July 21, Ryan starts football! Yes, already, and it stinks. For the first week he only has to go from 1:00 to 5:00. The following week is all day for middle school football camp, and the week after that starts 2-a-days. I guess a week after that we have to be back at school? I’m not too sure but when you look at it, the summer is just about over. I guess it’s a good thing I enjoy my job and really like the people I work with.
Well, now that I’ve rambled on, I need to figure out how to post this! Please keep checking back because I’m really going to try to keep up with this!
(Ok, I just tried to add pics to this post and it says it can’t create a directory after uploading and won’t let me. Can anyone help me with this? Tom?)

This is Friday of the Memorial Day weekend, Kim’s at work, and I am working on our website for the first time in forever. This has been a really busy year for the Hardin Family. This is my first time blogging, so it is a learning process. I can’t believe it has almost been a year since Lauren arrived. It really feels like she has been here much longer though. She is eating table food, standing and moving, and getting into whatever is not tied down. Madison has been great with her. She loves her baby sister.
